Despite the pre-show mayhem, I managed to get the dish from Gino on this season’s outerwear trends along with a sneak peak at what we can expect to see on the runway this Friday!
BBS: What are the hot outerwear trends for women this autumn/winter 09/10?
GV: Coats, coats and coats! The right stylish coat can complete and push a woman’s outfit to the next level! A great tailored or voluminous coat this season makes a great statement. Instead of buying the safe and traditional black coat for the season…buy a flashy, exciting, fun coat to flaunt and be noticed. Be daring with the goal of making every other woman jealous!!
BBS: :)! What are three important things to consider when buying new outerwear?
GV: Fit, comfort and above all…style!!!
BBS: And now for the fun…what exciting fashions can we expect from the Gino Velardi Fashion Show?
GV: With my reputation, I’m known for creating mostly evening wear, but in reality sell more of the everyday ready to wear to clients. I would sell an amazing cocktail dress or an evening gown to a client and come to find out they also need magnificent daywear too. I’ve ventured into doing this for the past few years now and it’s something I felt was an important addition to my label. I enjoy creating fabulous two piece suits and eye-dropping coats for women…focused on fit and wear ability, style and comfort and that has that “wow” factor I strive in doing with every piece of clothing I design! And that’s the new addition to my collection for this season. Hope everyone enjoys it!!!
