To get the latest advice for selecting this summer travel essential, I spoke with Samantha Holloway, owner of the trendsetting boutique DS Additions.

BBS: What tips do you have for selecting a stylish, but functional tote for travel?

SH: For a travel tote, selecting a bag with pockets for organization is a must (inner or outer will do). Wider straps will make it comfortable to carry and pick a color…not black! Colors will stand out and look more fashionable too!

BBS: Colors are a key element for any accessories, but when it comes to travel, functionality also ranks very high on my list. What materials work best for the poolside & beach?

SH: Try a nylon bag! This material works great for the poolside or beach, and looks fantastic. It’s easy to clean and comes in lots of fun, vibrant colors!

BBS: The JPK Paris totes that you carry are very travel-worthy. The stylish colors and metallic accent really make them an ideal summer accessory. What other tote designers are big this season?
